Glad to see this blog! I have just started a new home automation outfit here in California that handles Design, sales and installation. I also distribute HAI (www.homeauto.com) threw another outfit for the DIY and out of area clients. I have owned an installation outfit since 2000 but have been doing commuter/IT work for over 20 years. These are very exciting times in the home automation industry. Even those who are not drawn to gadget like us techies, still desire systems that make their home or office more comfortable, self sufficient, ability to control off-site at work of via mobile PC based cell phones and most common requested is ENERGY SAVINGS. Our systems help save an additional 5%+ and increase property value 3% to 5% and homes sell on average 50% faster which is a major importance in current housing market!
